Ever since I started riding I’ve been making sketches of ideas I had for bike parts. At school I would daydream about the ultimate bike. My dad didn’t fix my bike for me when I was young, so I had to figure it out myself. I think that forced me to become mechanically inclined. I always thought there was a way to improve the parts that were on my bike. By the time I was 16 I decided that I wanted to start a bike company one day. I always customized my bike, whether it was to make it lighter or just making my own parts from scratch because I love making things. I think designing and making bike parts is my own form of art.
      When I look at mainstream advertising I see how they put more energy into trying to convince you that they make the best product instead of actually trying to make the best product. This has always turned me off. I decided that instead of putting all of our energy into trying to convince people, through lots of advertising, that we make the best parts, I would just put all my energy into actually making them.
