Tree Pegs

We have been researching and designing pegs for a long time now. I wanted a peg set that was
light, but still grinds fast. We are designing 2 styles of the peg. One will be for all around riding and
it will be a steel/aluminum combo. The other will be the park specific peg which will be very lite
and made of full aluminum. We have been testing our park peg prototypes for a few weeks,
please check out the pictures below.
The peg is 1.5 inch diameter and will be available in 4” or 4.25” long lengths. We are unable to disclose the weight yet but these pegs are far lighter than any pegs currently available. The pegs are internally butted to save weight and increase strength. We are currently testing 2 different rare grades of aluminum that have a very high strength and hardness.

I used to run titanium pegs because they are light, but they grind very slow and leave material on the coping, which makes the coping slower and slower. After riding these for a few weeks we can say for sure that these aluminum pegs actually grind faster than titanium. Just to clear any confusion, aluminum is not inherently a high friction material. Everyone has had there experience of aluminum railing being very slow, but aluminum railing is made of a very soft corrosion resistant grade. Like all metals, the higher quality grades are harder and have a lower friction coefficient.
Here is a picture of the peg on my bike.
